Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander Split

According to a source, after less than a year of dating, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender have decided to call it quits on their relationship. The 38 year old actor and the 26 year old actress worked together on the set of their film, The Light Between Oceans. In late 2014, the pair continued to spend time together, which had given rise to speculation that they were dating. The couple was photographed together in Mexico in May where they were attending the Formula One Grand Prix. They were enjoying the races and looked affectionate and happy.

Most recently, Vikander starred opposite Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl, a movie that’s already generating Oscar buzz. Fassbender, on the other hand, is working on his role as the enigmatic and revolutionary co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. The Prometheus actor had developed a sort of history of dating his costars before beginning his relationship with Vikander. From 2010 to 2011, he had dated his quite young co-star from X-Men: First Class, Zoe Kravitz. From 2012 to 2013, he had romanced Nicole Behrie, his costar in Shame.

In GQ’s issue of November 2013, the Irish-German hunk had admitted that his commitment to his career had taken a serious toll on his love life. He said that he was very selfish about the hours he dedicated to his work and since he began acting since 17, his adult dating life has been covered with it. The longest relationship he had lasted for about two years. However, he also noted that women began to find him more attractive when he joined Hollywood’s A-list with roles in 12 Years a Slave, Shame and more. He said that the same girls would have walked away from him three years ago, but now they tend to find him attractive and appealing.
